Who Was Given A Seat To The Stands (aka Who Refused To Play The Encore)
The Spectrum Theatre, Philadelphia, PA
June 29, 1977
R&D release
Audience [source 1+2+3]

CD 1:
1. Sheep
2. Pigs On The Wing Part 1
3. Dogs
4. Pigs On The Wing Part 2
5. Pigs (Three Different Ones) - (2 sources)

CD 2:
1. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-V)
2. Welcome To The Machine
3. Have A Cigar
4. Wish You Were Here
5. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts VI-IX) - (2 sources)
6. Money - (2nd source)
7. Us & Them - (2nd source + 3rd source)

notes:
It's the *complete* Spectrum Philadelphia show from 2 different sources; actually 3, last piece of Us & Them is filled from another tape / same recorder; doesn't exist a recorder 2 circulating so far, all the tapes complete or incomplete, good sounding or bad sounding are from the same recorder.
It comes exactly from the same recording of the RoIO SPECTRUM THEATRE PHILADELPHIA 29.6.77 - it just uses a second source to fill the missing pieces of the other tape.
Here it was obviously used the other tape as main source cause it sounds quite better than the second one.
the sound of the 'main' tape is rather distant and there are audience interferences here and there, but it sounds great compared to this "alternative" source that has a very distant muffled sound.
The choice to use both the tapes (and not only the second source) was a good one, in this way we can get the complete show sounding enough decent. The parts filled with the second tape are not hard to identify, there's a clear change of sound - it was used exactly on:
- Pigs (Three Different Ones) - the main tape has a gap of about 16 seconds of slence in the middle, here filled with the second source.
- Shine On You Crazy Diamond (parts VI - IX) - the main tape has a cut after some minutes, the second source is here "attached" to complete the song.
- Money and Us & Them - totally missing in the first tape, here the 2 songs comes entirely from the second source till "haven't you heard.." on Us & Them, then a 3rd source enters in.
This recording was surely speedcorrected for this release, indeed the original tape (1st source) runs too slow, here we have the right speed.
The original title of this release is Who Was Given A Seat In The Stands, then changed by someone as Who Refused To Play The Encore ... I still don't know exactly the reason why someone modified the title, maybe because of the peculiarity of this show, Waters actually seems to have not performed the last encore, he was forced to leave the show after Money due to illness.
