To my ears, the sound of this source is better than the other circulating recorder 1, so an upgrade. I don't know precisely the generation of my tape, but I think it's a first or second generation.

A note by PR:
I compared all versions in existence and came to the conclusion that there were no reasonably good version because the frequency response was total BS regardless the version. Recorder 2 sounds as it was recorded in front of the arena and the versions of Recorder 1 were all the same. So-called "raw transfer 24-96" was probably the worse of two, because 50Hz noise is more prominent due to 24-96. Previously I restrained myself from attempting to intervene in any of PF recordings but in this case the solution was so obvious and so very easy that I made an exception. It took me just a couple of minutes: no NR, no de-humming, just one single frequency EQ and now you have by far the best naturally sounding version without any increase in hum or hiss.

I have no doubt that the lovers of so-called "raw versions" would see this as an sacrilege, but it was necessary in order for the rest of us to actually HEAR this great concert for the first time.
